3.4 Invite the Patient to the Encounter as Clinical Staff

1. Send Email Invitation to the Patient

  1. Check the box to send an email or SMS text to the Patient
  2. Click on the Send Email or SMS Button to send the invitation

In general, send an email invitation if the patient is using a computer for the Encounter.  Otherwise, you may send an SMS text if the patient will be using their phone.

The email will be sent to the address from the patient file.  If the patient is using another person's computer, you may enter a different address to overide it.

If the patient is having trouble logging into their account, you may check the Do Not Require Authentication box.  This process will bypass the patient log in and allow the patient to go directly to the Zoom video. We recommend you DO NOT USE this feature on a new patient since they will not need to accept and approve the Telemedicine Terms and Conditions page required for all new users.

2. Manually Log When Sending the Meeting ID directly to the Patient and/or the Provider

  1. Check who was sent the Meeting ID
  2. Click on Record Joins Button.

Cautiously use this process to timestamp and start the Zoom video when the patient or provider cannot get into their email or SMS.  Do NOT use this for new patients!
